Two Arrests Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault caused the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
